I have a practice that I am really loving, and I thought I’d share. It’s my 5 a day KINDNESS practice. It’s so simple, yet so rewarding. I am intentional about 5 acts of KINDNESS a day.
- Sending a text prayer or affirmation to a friend
- Saying “good morning” with a truthful intent they have a good morning
- Listening to someone’s perspective
- Waving at a driver
- Sending an e-mail to a friend I’ve been out of contact with
- Sending journal gifts to people
- Acknowledging a post with kindness
- Saying thank you with care
- Practicing patience
- Laughing at how silly something is with someone
- Saying a prayer for a neighborhood kid biking to camp
- Reaching out to someone who may be struggling
- Sending an article or book to someone
- Buying a stranger’s dinner or coffee
- Practicing yoga with a positive intent for someone
I’m sure you have a list of KINDNESS practices in your life! What I love about it is that it takes my mind off me, and my life, what’s working, what’s not working, and puts the focus on someone else. I find it really fun to look for the next KINDNESS opportunity. Sometimes I track them in my planner, sometimes I acknowledge the acts when I lay my head on my pillow to fall asleep.
It’s totally something in your control to create the kind of world you really want.
I hope to find you on some day you need a little kindness. Don’t be shy, let me know if you need a little something.

With heart,
Jill
