I have been a resident of South Minneapolis for the past 20 years of my life. Minneapolis has loved me up in so many ways! I’ve walked her lakes, biked her paths, enjoyed outdoor patios, parks, soaked up the lush trees, connected to an amazing community, raised my son in Minneapolis schools.
It’s tragic and heart-wrenching to see how lives and our community have been impacted by recent events.
I believe in Minneapolis. I believe in a big Creator. I believe in our humanity and desire for good. And, I believe in our divinity even a little more.
My humanity, if I let it, spirals into fear, chaos, lack of belief, despair – all of it. If I stay on this trajectory, it’s not good.
And, when I get it together, and connect to my divinity, I know I have the ability to BELIEVE that good will prevail.
I am reminded of a model by David Hawkins that shares we have a range of emotions. At the lower end of the scale, is fear, anger, frustration, negativity. At the top end of the scale is love, joy, peace, acceptance.
What is so cool, is what is in the middle, the turning point…stay with me.
Between the lower emotions and higher emotions is a turning point where we demonstrate a COURAGE and WILLINGNESS. A COURAGE and WILLINGNESS to believe it can be different.
What are your beliefs right now? What are you believing about a turn-around?
It’s easy to feel beaten down, exhausted, without resilience for BELIEVING.
And, I know that in your spark of your divinity, there is a COURAGE and WILLINGNESS to believe.

As we navigate these times, what if you allowed yourself the belief, the thought, “I have a willingness to believe in ___________”. You fill in the blank. A willingness to believe in good prevailing, peace, our community healing, or maybe it’s a willingness to believe that your life will get better and better.
You see, if we are locked into the emotions of fear, anger, frustration, the lower end of the scale, it actually deregulates our autonomic nervous system, and hijacks us from the higher thinking regions of our brain – our ability to problem solve, think clearly, be creative communicate.
And we need all of that in these times!
I believe in your divinity, I believe in my divinity. If you are suffering, explore the possibility of a belief that says “I am WILLING to BELIEVE________“. Open up that pathway to a state that will help you to live with courage, be inspired by ideas, get clear on right action. Solutions live at the higher states.
I believe in you, and me!
I am WILLING to BELIEVE our lives can get better and better, that we all make a difference.

Jill
