SUMMARY:Emotional Intelligence and Neuroscience - Meet Yoga
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for the leader in you who may need some personal attention. You will raise your self-awareness of your emotional intelligence patterns\, gain an understanding of social neuroscience\, and identify development practices to support you being at choice in the moment. \nDid you know that a leader’s negative words have a negative contagion effect on an employee’s brain and performance? Yes\, it is now personal. Emotional intelligence has been described as a true predictor of success. The good news is\, is that unlike IQ\, it can be developed. We will pack the workshop and a 1:1 coaching session full of tailored solutions to help you become more emotionally intelligent and successful. \nPrior to the Workshop \n\nTwo weeks prior to the session you will receive a link to the EQ-I 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Self-Assessment from Multi-Health Systems. This is one of the only valid and reliable emotional intelligence assessments on the market. You will review your results in the workshop.\n\nAt the Workshop \n\nWe will start the workshop off with a 45 minute yoga practice. No prior yoga experience necessary. It will be very basic and can be done from a mat or a chair.  It will be accessible to everyone.  You will learn that your breath is going to be one of your greatest assets to being mindful\, allowing you to be at choice in difficult situations. Come sit on a mat and breathe\, experience your parasympathetic nervous system kicking into gear for optimal performance. Please bring a mat.  Not a fan of yoga? Join us for breakfast at 8:30am.\n\n\nEnjoy an organic breakfast.\n\nWhat You Can Expect \n\nGet a taste of an emotionally intelligent company\, what it’s like to work there\, the benefits for employees\, leaders\, and the bottom line.\n\nConversation with Nancy Greatrix\, Director of HR at Room and Board\n\n\n\n\nReflect on how emotional intelligence is core to leadership success.\n\n\nUnderstand the basics of emotional intelligence and social neuroscience.\n\n\nExamine how your brain works\, what happens when:\n\nYour emotional intelligence is robbed\nYour thinking and problem solving is dulled\nYour leadership patterns are stuck\n\n\n\n\nGain an in depth understanding of the EQ-I 2.0. Recognize typical leadership patterns and reflect on your EQ-I 2.0 results.\n\n\nIdentify what triggers you and causes your emotional intelligence failures. Reflect on the cost and ripple effect of poor emotional intelligence. Raise your self-awareness for how to change your leadership behaviors.\n\n\nGain leading edge insight on how simple mindfulness and yoga practices can support you in developing and sustaining emotional intelligence\, allowing you to be at choice in difficult moments instead of falling into limiting leadership patterns.\n\n\n Learn yoga practices you can put into practice at your desk for optimal brain performance.\n\n\nBegin to develop your custom development practices for becoming more emotionally intelligent.\n\nPost Workshop \nFollowing the workshop we will have an in-depth 90 minute 1:1 coaching session on your EQ-I 2.0 Self-Assessment results. Your emotional intelligence strengths and risks will be highlighted and concrete development practices are identified. \nWe welcome you to show up in some yoga\, workout\, or comfortable clothes\, have an open mind\, and keep breathing.
